BBC / THINK BIGGER Production Training Scheme
On the Production Training Scheme, the BBC offer opportunities across the UK, where trainees get to work for independent production companies for a period of 12 months alongside support and training delivered by thinkBIGGER! There is also useful information on this page - BBC ACADEMY GUIDES
the BBC offers up to 20 bursaries a year, across 11 sponsored courses, to support exciting new talent from diverse backgrounds.
SKY TV - Get into TV Operations
Get into TV Operations is an initiative to open up visibility of roles in a technology environment which are traditionally seen as Male dominated to Female applicants who may be considering a career in Technology or retraining for a second career in an area they have previously thought they were not suited for. The programme consists of a one week work experience event to showcase the roles to candidates who show the right motivation and qualities and want to find out if this is a career path they would like to follow. Following on from this we run a number of training opportunities as a 6-9 month fixed term contract.
The Grierson Trust also offers two further specialist training initiatives in the form of Grierson DocLab In Focus: Editing and Grierson DocLab In Focus: Production Management, in partnership with Netflix.
WARNER BROS DISCOVERY & BFI
This program takes 15 talented young people to take part in a training bootcamp, both to get a feel for the ins and outs of working on a busy set and to equip you with the tools to be successful in working on a high-end TV series or feature film set. AMAZON PRIME ‘ PRIME VIDEO PATHWAY’
Prime Video recognise the training gap so are helping to generate opportunities is by investing £10m to broaden access to the sector and provide more opportunities for those from diverse backgrounds through ‘Prime Video Pathway’; with more than half of places allocated for those based outside of London.
